638nm red laser diode outputs 3.0W pulse-light for projectors
Mitsubishi Electric is aiming its ML562G86 pulse laser diode at projectors, featuring a vibrant 638-nanometer red light and a world-record output power of 3.0W under pulse operation (over 20% greater than its predecessor ML562G84).

The device has a mean time to failure of over 20,000 hours. Its high output power and wide operating temperature range from 0 to 45ºC thanks to a large 9.0mm-diameter transistor-outline can (TO-CAN) package with excellent heat dissipation will contribute to enhanced projector luminance and miniaturization. The company will sale its first samples early 2019.
